Road rehabilitation works are continued intensively in Daryal Gorge
Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Nodar Javakhishvili and Chairman of the Roads Department Giorgi Seturidze visited Daryal Gorge and were informed about road rehabilitation works on the spot.
At this time the road rehabilitation works are ongoing intensively. Up to 40 pieces of equipment have been mobilized. Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure, Ltd. " State Construction Company" and Roads Department implement road rehabilitation and disaster relief works.
Tergi River returned to its natural bed
As a result of intense works in Daryal Gorge, Tergi River returned to its natural bed and the road recovery works started.
First Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Ilia Darchiashvili and Chairman of the Roads Department Giorgi Seturidze coordinated disaster relief works.
All the necessary equipment (about 40 units) is mobilized in Daryal Gorge. Ltd. State Construction Company at the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure and the Roads Department are implementing disaster relief works.

All the necessary equipment is mobilized in Daryal Gorge. Works continue actively to return Terek to its natural bed and to start road rehabilitation works.
Completion of student hostel construction
Municipal Development Fund of the ministry of regional development and infrastructure of Georgia has completed construction of 320 room student hostel at Lisi Lake adjacent territory. Today Minister of Education and Science Aleksandre Jejelva, first deputy minister of regional development and infrastructure Ilia Darchiashvili Municipal Development Fund executive director Juansher Burchuladze visited newly constructed building. Student hostel will improve educational and living conditions for vulnerable students from different municipalities.
Ethnic minorities will be actively employed in the local public services
Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure, Tengiz Shergelashvili participated in the presentation of the results of the project - "Self-government school for the students from Kvemo Kartli", organized by non-governmental organization "Green Caucasus".
The aim of the project was involving and employment of the ethnic minorities in the local public services. 60 students wishing employment in the public service took part in the project, 50 of whom were ethnic minority.
Cooperation with ADB is being continued
Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Nodar Javakhishvili, together with the first deputy Ilia Darchiashvili and the heads of the sub-structures of the Ministry met the high officials of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). On the meeting discussion was focused on the current and future infrastructure projects, road infrastructure development, as well as on construction projects of water and sewerage systems.
Bidding on Tskneti-Betania Road Design and Rehabilitation Works to be Announced in the Near Future
On June 13, 2016, which is an anniversary of the natural disaster, geological survey of the damaged section of Tskenti-Betania road and its adjacent area is completed. The survey was conducted on demand and in coordination with the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia. The design for rehabilitation of the road sections, which were damaged by the calamity is under preparation.
Memorandum of economic cooperation between the self-governing cities was signed
The conference “Georgian Cities - the driving forces for development " was held by supporting of Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia in Kutaisi. Memorandum of economic cooperation between the self-governing cities was signed within the frameworks of the conference.
The event was opened by Mayor of Kutaisi Shota Murgulia. Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Tengiz Shergelashvili and Governor of Imereti Givi Chichinadze welcomed the guests.

The meeting, which was hosted by the deputy Ministry of the Regional Development and Infrastructure tengiz Shergelashvili, was attended by the representatives of the local governments - mayors and councilors.
7 km section of Agara-Zemo Osiauri road is opened
Traffic was diverted on a new alignment - 7 km section of Agara-Zemo osiauri road. Prime-Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Mr. Nodar Javakhishvili, Chairman of Roads Department George Seturidze and World Bank Regional Director for the South Caucasus Ms. Mercy Tembon officially opened the new road.
