Didgori Complex Rehabilitation Project is Launched
Today, under the festive occasion dedicated to Didgoroba, the Prime Minister of Georgia, Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Nodar Javakhishvili, and Executive Director of the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia, Juansher Burchuladze were visiting Didgori in Tetritskaro Municipality.
Traffic is restored on the damaged roads by disaster in Borjomi municipality
Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Nodar Javakhishvili visited Borjomi to control and coordination of the disaster relief works.
As a result of heavy rain and hail on August 4, houses and commercial properties were flooded in Borjomi. A flood damaged asphalt and slowed movement. Strong winds also damaged power lines and several thousand customers were left without electricity. In order to coordinate and control the situation, according to the Prime Minister's directive all relevant services had been mobilized on the spot.
Gudauri water supply system construction is started
United Water Supply Company, at the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure, started the first phase of construction of water supply system in Gudauri resort.
The First Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Ilia Darchiashvili and Director of the United Water Supply Company Giorgi Koberidze visited construction-rehabilitation works today.
Construction of the resort's water supply system, funded by the government (4 million GEL) will be finished in November 2016. 100 local residents will be employed on the works.
Hungary interested by the projects in water supply sphere
Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Nodar Javakhishvilis met theMinister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Péter Szijjártó and ambassador of Hungary Sandor Szabo.
Nodar Javakhishvilis introduced to the diplomatic corps of Hungary the current and future infrastructure projects. The sides discussed the prospects of joint cooperation.
Installation works of trash racks on the riverbeds have been started
Municipal Development Fund at the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure started implementation of the installation works of trash racks. The pilot project is being implemented in Natanebi riverbed, Shekvetili. The installation works are being implemented on the basis of the survey conducted by the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia and as per its recommendations, as it has considerable significance for improvement of ecological condition of the coastline.
ADB anticorruption mission in Georgia
Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Eka Sepashvili met ADB anti-corruption office representatives along with the Director of the United Water Supply Company of Georgia, Giorgi Koberidze.
The mission term in Georgia is 25 July through 19 August. It will review the procurement documents of ADB funded projects and issues related to transfer of money. The mission will also inspect the ongoing works.
The mission report will be uploaded on the ADB official web-site.
Conference - “Supporting economic development in Kvemo Kartli and Tavush provinces”
A conference “Supporting Economic Development in Kvemo Kartli and Tavush Provinces” organized by an NGO SIDA was held at Radisson Hotel within the frames of an EU funded project “Trans-border economic development”.
The conference was attended by Mr. Tengiz Shergelashvili, Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, independent experts, private entrepreneurs, and representatives of local self-governments and governmental agencies of the two countries (Georgia and Switzerland).
Presentation of A Georgia-Armenia Trans-border project
Today a presentation of outcomes Georgia-Armenian partnership project – “Eastern Partnership for Territorial Cooperation” was held in Tbilisi. The project is being implemented by the European Union. A number of trans-border projects are being implemented in Georgia since 2015. The event was initiated by the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia and relevant Ministry of Armenia. From Georgian side the event was opened by Mr. Tengiz Shergelashvili, Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure.
11 km section of highway is opened
Bashi-Dapnari 11km section of highway opened today and traffic was diverted on a new alignment.
New road officially was opened by Prime-Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili , Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Mr. Nodar Javakhishvili, Chairman of Roads Department George Seturidze and Ambassador of Japan to Georgia Mr. Toshio KAITANI.
Rehabilitation of the local roads is ongoing in Samtredia
Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Tengiz Shergelashvili, together with the governor of Imereti Region Givi Chichinadze inspected ongoing road-rehabilitation works in Samtredia municipality.
2.5 mln GEL has been allocated In 2016 for the rehabilitation of the local roads, from the Fund of the Projects to be Implemented in the Regions of Georgia. Asphalt surface has been covered on 22 kilometers of roads within the frameworks of 13 projects. The remaining work will be completed before the end of the current year.
