"Mziuri Park is bringing to mind lots of memories and I am pleased that it will assume new lease of life"
“Each of us has a great deal of recollections of youth associated with Mziuri, it is a space, where we used to stroll in our younger days and I am really pleased that now we, with assistance of our partners, can implement this project assuming new lease of life to the Park “ – declared Maya Tskitishvili, Vice-Premier and Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia today at the presentation of Children’s Park “New Mziuri” project.
The Municipal Development Fund of Georgia is implementing the EIB backed project and its completion date is set at the beginning of 2020.
“This place has once consolidated young people at the time of natural calamity and we are sure that after park rehabilitation, this project will provide youngsters with an opportunity of positive pastime in agreeable environment. I also believe that it is just a beginning, which will give rise to numerous projects. Through our joint efforts, this park will transform not merely into a needed landscaped area, but into the house of dreams sought by young people “ – stated Maya Tskitishvili.
The park will be divided into various type sporting, cultural and recreational spaces. The project provides for restoration-arrangement of Chabua Amirejibi Avenue adjoining flood-ravaged area and park, full rehabilitation of existing infrastructure, rehabilitation-adapting of depreciated buildings located in “Mziuri” park and transforming them into cultural-educational spaces. Former cableway station building located in the park will accommodate a multimedia library and an exhibition hall of modern gallery. Moreover, a building of Doll’s Museum will also be constructed in Mziuri.
