Maya Tskitishvili – “Visit in China ended with very good and specific results”


 “We had a very important working visit in the People’s Republic of China and, I think, we achieved very good and specific results. I am glad that we had possibility to participate in China-Eurasia Expo” – declared Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Mrs. Maya Tskitishvili regarding the working visit of Georgian delegation in the city of Ürümqi in the People’s Republic of China. According to Maya Tskitishvili, the meeting with Vice Premier of China Mr. Hu Chunhua is particularly noteworthy.
Cooperation issues between two countries in different directions were discussed, and particular attention was paid to Georgia’s role in development of a so-called “middle corridor”, within the Silk Road.
One of the main subjects of meetings was the potential to use the railway as well as other traffic network in order to ensure transportation of Chinese cargo to Europe passing through Georgia and the more active use of so-called “middle corridor.”
As Mrs. Maya Tskitishvili mentioned at the end of the visit, an agreement was reached regarding formation of working groups.
“These groups will evaluate existing deficiencies, potential and possibilities, in order to promote railway and road traffic, and more important, to strengthen mutual trade and increase investments,” – declared the Vice Prime Minister. 
Within the visit, Georgian delegation conducted meetings with the Vice Premier of China, the leader of Xinjiang autonomous region and the Vice President of the largest investment company - Hualing Group. Moreover, Maya Tskitishvili made a speech at China-Eurasia Economic Cooperation Forum. 
Georgian delegation included Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Genadi Arveladze and General Director of the railway Davit Peradze.
